Several users, influencers, political workers and propagandists have shared the video of a crowd raising slogans against him and claimed it to be a recent video from Rahul’s visit to Manipur.
Sharing the video, an account @SrinivasMN6 on X (Formerly Twitter) wrote. “Rahul Gandhi has been asked to go back in Manipur by residents, as his inflammatory speeches would trigger into new clashes. This was Yesterday 8- 7- 2024, so he had to return.”
Another user @sunnyrajbjp wrote, “Locals in Manipur raised “Rahul Gandhi Go Back” slogans during his visit. His VULTURE TOURISM did not go down well with the people of Manipur.” He later deleted the post.

BJP worker @doctorrichabjp has also shared the video and said. “Manipuri people threw Rahul Gandhi out of the market after he ran away from the press conference. Rahul was on a tour to meet the people of Manipur, but Manipuri people raised slogans of ‘Rahul Gandhi go back’. Seeing the protest against him, Rahul left the market.”

Truth about the Old video of crowd chanting ‘Rahul Gandhi go back’ in Assam shared as Manipur, fact check
As soon as the posts containing the video of chanting slogans against Congress leader Rahul came to our knowledge. We conducted research and found that this video is not from Manipur but an old video from Assam’s Nagaon.
During research, we found the same video on ANI’s official X(Formerly Twitter) handle with a caption. “Assam: A large number of people carrying posters of ‘Rahul go back’ and ‘Anyaya Yatra’ held a protest against Congress leader Rahul in the Ambagan area of Nagaon this evening.” The video was posted on 21 January 2024.
The same video was also found on Kanak News YouTube channel which was uploaded in January 2024, the description reads. ‘Rahul Gandhi Go Back’ Chanting People ‘Greet’ Congress Leader in Assam As Mark Of Protest “.
Moreover, we found NDTV‘s report regarding the video, as per the report. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was mobbed at a roadside eatery in Assam’s Nagaon district on 21 January 2024. The incident took place when Mr Gandhi and some other leaders stopped at the restaurant in Ambagan on way to their night halt in Rupohi, about 10 km from the site.
Hence, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s fact-check that the video of crowd chanting slogans against Rahul Gandhi is not from Manipur but old video from Assam.
