The truth about the video, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video. We found that the accused teenager was not from the Hindu community but from the Muslim community.
To verify the claims made by propagandists. We performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the video using Google Lens. This led us to a Facebook post containing the original video. The Facebook post stated โVery scary! In Bilaswadi village of Jalgaon district, a Muslim youth has committed a very low level of torture (rape) on a cow. The administration should take strict action in this regard and demolish the house of that Haramkhorโ (Translated from Marathi).
Furthermore, taking cues from the Facebook post, we performed relevant keyword searches and found multiple local reports regarding the incident. According to local sources (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), the accused belongs to the Muslim community. Following protests and a complaint from Hindu organizations, the police arrested the minor, though his identity was not disclosed due to his age. Further investigation is ongoing. The incident took place in Muktainagar, Jalgaon, Maharashtra.
