A video showing a group of injured men in police custody, walking inside what appears to be a government facility, is being shared as footage of supporters of Chandrashekhar Azad “Ravan” who allegedly rioted during a violent protest in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on June 29, 2025. However, the truth is that this video predates the Prayagraj protest and is actually from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan — not from Uttar Pradesh.
Propagandist accounts including @MeghUpdates and @AsianDigest amplified this claim with statements like:
“Chandrashekhar Ravan supporters who RIOTED in Prayagraj are getting the TREATMENT they truly deserve from Yogi’s UP Police.”

Another account, @Ocjain4, also shared the same claim but later deleted the post. Other users, such as @naveenjindalbjp and @iSinghApurva, further spread this misleading narrative across social media platforms.
Truth: Footage is from Rajasthan, Not Prayagraj Protest
As the video started going viral, the D-Intent Data Team took notice and began digging into the facts. Using reverse image search, frame-by-frame analysis, and keyword tracking, they traced the video back to its actual source. It turns out, the clip had already been uploaded on June 5, 2025, weeks before the Prayagraj protest on June 29. The same video was also shared earlier by News18 Rajasthan on YouTube, and official police accounts like @BaranPolice and @sgnrpolice, confirming that the footage is from Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan — not from Uttar Pradesh, as claimed in the posts.

There’s no evidence connecting the men in the video to the violent protest in Prayagraj, nor any proof that they are supporters of Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan. This clip has been taken completely out of context and falsely linked to stir outrage and push a misleading narrative.
