Fact Check: Viral Norway Bridge Collapse Video Is AI-Generated

A video showing a ship crashing into a bridge, triggering a massive collapse and sending vehicles into the water, is being circulated with claims that it depicts a real incident in Norway. According to the viral posts, the bridge allegedly collapsed just 24 hours after opening, causing a major disaster with unknown casualties. This claim is false. The video does not show a real incident and has no connection to Norway or any real bridge collapse.

The AI-generated clip was shared as real by multiple social media accounts, including @GPX_Press@Rissslh, and @inkwakuzi_, which amplified the false narrative without verification.

Truth: Video Is AI-Generated, Not a Real Incident

As the false claim gained traction on social media, it drew our attention. The D-Intent Data Team conducted a detailed frame-by-frame investigation and keyword research. We closely examined the viral footage and performed reverse image searches on multiple frames. This analysis led us to a YouTube account named @TianXinBaobao, which regularly uploads AI-generated disaster videos.Several visual inconsistencies clearly expose the clip’s artificial nature. Vehicles move unnaturally, physics appear unrealistic, and one container truck is visible in the middle of the road without a driver’s cabin, something impossible in real life. The ship’s motion and the bridge collapse also lack real-world structural behavior.

No Norwegian authorities, emergency agencies, or credible media outlets have reported any such bridge collapse. The video is purely computer-generated content designed to appear realistic.

Intent:

Influencers are circulating AI-generated videos without providing the actual information to get the spotlight on social media.
