A disturbing video depicting two people assaulting a helpless, half-naked man has gone viral, alleging that miscreants in Rajasthan’s Alwar beat up a Dalit youth in a hate crime based on caste.

These assertions are false and unfounded. Bhavya Goel is the victim; he is not from the Dalit community. Eklavya Yadav, Alkesh Dhanak, and Mohit Kumar are the accused. Media sources state that the victim suffered physical abuse for failing to return the borrowed funds. So, the claim that two individuals beating up a half-naked helpless man, asserting that a Dalit youth was beaten up by miscreants in a caste-based hate crime in Rajasthan’s Alwar is not true at all. We visited livehindustan, which published an article on this incident on May 12, 2024 with the headline “Video of a young man being stripped naked beaten in Alwar went viral, the matter is related to a money dispute”. Three people stripped a young man for not returning the borrowed money and beat him mercilessly with stick and belt. Later, the young man was threatened to be killed alongwith his brother if he complains this to anyone. The incident took place on May 2, 2024. Matter pertains to Gram Panchayat village Gandala of Behror. After 7 days, his father filed a case against three individuals at Neemrana police station. All three accused are still away from police custody. His father informed that his son borrowed Rs 1600 fro Billu Yadav for some work, which he had returned, but despite he was asking for money again. The police is investigating the matter and all of the accused will be arrested soon.
