Fact Check: A scripted video of a farmer helping a woman at a city bus stop passed off as a real incident

A video depicting a girl’s partner laughing at her torn skirt, while a farmer helping by offering his lungi at a city bus stop, has been circulated on social media platforms. Users have shared the video as a real incident. However, D-Intent Data has found that the video is scripted and has nothing to do with reality.

Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter) @_x__Xx_Yogi4SM_ wrote, “A girl with her best friend. They both sit somewhere. The girl’s frock gets torn by something. What happened after that, you see! And tell me who is merely literate? And who is fully educated? A college-going youth or the simple farmer who protected the girl’s dignity?” (Translated from Hindi).

Another account @RandomRajasthan has also shared the video and wrote. A poor man can even auction his honour for the honour of a woman.

The truth about the video of farmer helping a woman, Fact Check

As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice, we conducted research and analysis of the video and found that the video was scripted and not an actual incident.

To verify the claims made by the users, we performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google Lens which led us to a YouTube post containing the same visuals. The video was found on a YouTube channel named “3RD EYE” which uploads such scripted videos to create social awareness and entertainment.

Additionally, it has a disclaimer that reads “Disclaimer: Thank you for watching! Please be aware that this Channel features scripted dramas and parodies of Aware People in Different Situations. This Channel Brings Social Awareness Videos. These short films are for entertainment purposes only!”

Hence, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the video of a girl’s partner laughing at her torn skirt and a farmer helping her by offering his lungi was scripted and has nothing to do with reality.
