Fact Check: AI-generated image of Mike Tyson with the Palestine flag circulated with misleading claims

An image of American professional boxer Mike Tyson with the Palestinian flag has been widely circulated on social media, with claims suggesting that he posed with the flag before his highly anticipated boxing match against YouTuber-turned-fighter Jake Paul. However, D-Intent Data has discovered that the image was not real but an AI-generated creation.

Sharing the image on X (Formerly Twitter) Pro-Palestine and Hamas sympathizer account @Naila_Ayad wrote, Tyson stands with Palestine. Like and retweet to respect him.” As of now, the post has received more than 490k views, 6k likes and a significant number of engagements.

Another Hamas sympathizer account, @RamAbdu also shared the image and said, “Mike Tyson poses with the Palestinian flag before his historic fight tomorrow”. Later, he deleted the post.

Several other users, influencers and propagandists have also disseminated the image and made similar claims. Their posts can be seen here, @Palestine001_, @racmess, @misvakcaps.

The truth about the viral photo of Mike Tyson, Fact Check 

As soon as the posts containing the image and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the viral image. And found that it was not a real photo but an AI-generated creation.

To verify the users’ claims, we conducted a reverse image search using Google Lens. But found no credible or verified sources related to the image. Additionally, we performed a keyword search to determine the image’s authenticity but were unable to locate any reliable sources.

Moreover, we analyzed the image using an AI detection tool, which confirmed that the image is AI-generated and not based on real events.

Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the image of Mike Tyson with the Palestinian flag was not a real photo. But an AI-generated creation.
