The truth about the viral video shared as from Bikaner, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video and found that the video was not real. But a mock drill test at Lalgarh station in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video using Google Lens. This led us to media reports containing the same visuals. According to the media reports (1, 2, 3), the video was from the Lalgarh station area of Bikaner and it showcases a mock drill organized to test the readiness and efficiency of rescue operations during a rail accident. Hence, the video has no connection to any real-life train accident.
Railway’s Deputy Divisional Manager Rupesh Kumar told the media that this was a mock drill in which forty passengers were said to be trapped. After this, all the teams reached together and the passengers were rescued. Railways usually keep doing such operations.
We also came across a Twitter (now X) post from North Western Railways about the mock drill. In the post, they stated, “A joint disaster management exercise was conducted by the Railways, NDRF, SDRF, and other agencies at the Lalgarh station yard of the Bikaner division.”
