A video currently circulating, showing a large crowd waving banners, flags, and chanting slogans, has been incorrectly identified as recent footage from Manipur. In truth, the video consists of AI-generated images and visuals and does not depict any real events. It was originally posted on Instagram, where the user explicitly mentioned that it was AI-generated.
Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter) Pakistan-based anti-India propaganda account @PSYWAROPS wrote, The situation in Manipur has significantly worsened, with no coverage from Indian media. Frustration is mounting, as thousands of people have taken to the streets demanding freedom from India.
Another propaganda account Dhruv Rathee Satire (@DhruvRatheFc) has also disseminated the video and said, Why is this voice of Manipur not reaching the ears of the Modi government or does it not want to listen?

The truth about the viral video shared as Manipur, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the visuals and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video and found that this video was not real but an AI-generated video and had nothing to do with reality.
To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google Lens. This led us to an Instagram post containing the same video uploaded in February 2024. The Instagram user Manab Jyoti Gogoi posted the video and mentioned that it depicts AI-generated visuals. He frequently shares AI videos and images.

Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the video doesn’t depict a real incident and the claims made by users were false and self-invented.
