The truth about the viral video related to Jizya, Fact Check

As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the incident and found that the incident was not related to Jizya tax collection.

To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video using Google Lens. This led us to a YouTube video clarifying the incident. Furthermore, we ran a relevant keyword search and found a media report regarding the incident.

The reports indicate that the video actually depicts a robbery. The incident took place in broad daylight at Dutta Jewelers in Mashwerpasha Kalibari Bazar, Daulatpur, Khulna, on October 28. The robbers looted  Tk 2 lakh in cash and five bags of gold ornaments. Uttam Dutta, the owner of Dutta Jewellers, stated that at 1:10 pm, four robbers entered the shop, each wearing masks and armed with pistols and teapots. They held him hostage at gunpoint, broke the glass, and stole the money and gold. One person named Nazimuddin was arrested along with the car.

Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the incident was not related to Jizya tax collection.
