Fact Check: Hindu father married his daughter? No, the viral video is scripted

A video featuring an older man and a young woman has been shared with the claim that a Hindu father married his daughter. However, the video is unrelated to reality—it is scripted and created by content creators purely for entertainment and to attract viewers.

Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter) propagandist account, @ladysikder wrote, A Hindu father married his daughter in India.  A proud moment for a 5000 year old culture. They should feel shame before shouting against Islam. (Translated from Bengali)

Another propaganda account @Anika_Pan also shared the video and wrote, The tension between blind devotees, Didi married her father. Muslims are infamous for lies.

Several other users, influencers and propagandists have also disseminated the video and made similar claims. Their posts can be seen here, @revolt_71, @asli_sona__, @JaysinghYadavSP, @007AliSohrab, @azizkavish

The truth about the viral video shared as a father married his daughter, Fact Check

As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video and found that the video was not based on a real-life situation but on scripted content.

To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video using Google Lens. We found the same video on YouTube and Facebook where it includes a disclaimer that reads, “This video is purely made for entertainment purposes only. This video has no intention to disrespect or defame based on race, color, ancestry, national origin, ethnic group identification, age, religion, marital or parental status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual, orientation, gender, gender identity or expression.” The video was created by a content creator Ankita Karotiya, it has nothing to do with reality.

Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the viral video of father-daughter marriage was scripted, not a real-life situation.
