Fact Check: Indian Comedian’s Satirical Video Misrepresented as Pakistani Citizen Criticizing Own Government

A video clip from a recent Republic TV broadcast is being widely circulated on social media. It features a man speaking critically about the Pakistani government and military, mocking their “victory claims” following recent India-Pakistan tensions. The clip is being used to suggest that Pakistani citizens themselves are calling out their leadership for spreading false narratives. But there’s a catch—the man in the video is not Pakistani.

An Influencer @choga_don posted this clip with this claim:

Dheere dheere Pakistanio ko realise ho rha h, kya hua tha unke sath

Republic bharat an youtube channel also post this clip on there news channel:

Media platforms are sharing satirical videos featuring Indian individuals about Pakistan in a way that misleads the general public.

Man in the Video Is Indian Comedian Anil Singh, Not a Pakistani National

As this clip gained hype on social media, the D-Intent Team began investigating it. We conducted a reverse image search and carried out a frame-by-frame analysis of the video. This investigation led us to an Instagram account, where we identified the man shown in the broadcast as Anil Singh, an Indian comedian and content creator. He is known for producing satirical videos in which he adopts a Pakistani accent to mock current affairs, often using humor to offer cross-border commentary. Republic TV wrongly presented Anil Singh as a Pakistani citizen, claiming that even people in Pakistan were speaking out against their own government and army. In reality, the video is part of Anil’s regular content and was never intended to be taken as an actual statement from a Pakistani national.

Intent:

Media outlets are circulating satirical videos of Indian individuals about Pakistan to mislead common people and create a false sense of internal dissent in the neighboring country.
