Fact Check: Miscreants vandalized toll plaza barricade in Bangladesh, video falsely linked to India 

A video showing a group of people causing chaos and some of them breaking down a toll plaza barricade has been circulated with claims that it is from India. However, D-Intent Data has found that the video is from Bangladesh, where some individuals vandalized the barricade at the Kuril toll plaza on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway. It is not related to India.

Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter) propagandist account @MithilaWaala wrote. Kya ab Bharat mein Musalman se toll tax liya jaayega ?? Kya ye hai @narendramodi ji aapka sabka saath sabka vikas !!. Central Govt and @nitin_gadkari’s ministry should launch “Pradhanmantri Musalman Ko Toll Maaf Karo Yojna”

Another propaganda account @BattaKashmiri has also shared the video and wrote, “Demography is Destiny. Poor toll booth guy doesn’t understand that skull cap is the toll free pass provided by the Secular government”.

The truth about the viral video, Fact Check 

As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video and found that the incident was not from India but Bangladesh. 

To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google Lens. This led us to several media reports containing the same visuals. According to the media reports (1, 2), this video was from Bangladesh where Some miscreants vandalized the barricade of Kuril toll plaza on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway. Not related to India.

Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the viral video of people vandalizing barricades at a toll plaza is not from India. But an incident from Bangladesh.

Social media users and influencers are circulating videos from Bangladesh with misleading claims to set their narrative based on religion in India.
