Suddenly, a young man wearing a grey T-shirt and dark trousers comes walking fast from behind, climbs to the dais and slaps Nitish on his shoulder while he is bowing down to place a garland in front of the statue. Users have shared the video and claimed to be a recent incident after the results of ‘General Election 2024’. As soon as the posts containing the video of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar being slapped by a youth came to our notice, We did a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google which led us to several media reports containing the same visuals.
According to the media reports, this is an old video from March 2022. The incident occurred when CM Nitish Kumar went to a hospital. He was offering flowers to a statue installed there. At that time a boy came and climbed up very fast and slapped the Chief Minister.
The Patna district administration issued a press release . And clarified that the youth who attacked the chief minister has been identified as 32-year-old Shankar Kumar Verma alias Chhotu. The youth was mentally ill and Nitish directed the officials not to initiate any action against the youth.
Hence, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the video is from March 2022 and has nothing to do with political revenge.
