Several users, influencers, propagandists, and political activists have shared the old video and portrayed it as a religious hate crime and mob violence against the Muslim community in Delhi’s Jahangir Puri.
Sharing the video, AIMIM Delhi state president Dr. Shoaib Jamai wrote. This is not happening in Pakistan but in Delhi, a Muslim Qureshi was mob lynched by goons of the majority community in Jahangirpuri area. His life was somehow saved after the intervention of local people. @DelhiPolice take action by arresting these criminals immediately. Such incidents are spoiling the image of Delhi.
Serial fake news peddler and propagandist Meer Faisal [@meerfaisal001] has also shared the video and said. In Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area, Hindutva goons brutally assaulted a young Muslim man. He later deleted the post.
Propagandist Sadaf Afreen has also disseminated the video and said, Incidents of mob lynching are increasing in the country! And the government is silent on mob lynching! A Muslim youth was brutally beaten by an impotent mob in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area! Local people helped and saved the youth’s life! How long will this continue??Mob = Law?? Later, she deleted the post.

As soon as the posts containing the video came to our notice, we conducted research and found several reports regarding the viral video.
According to the media reports, this is an old incident from Delhi’s Jahangirpuri where a young man named Kaif was beaten up in a personal dispute. Later, he succumbed to his injuries. As per the reports, the Police said, Kaif had beaten up the main accused, a minor, and in order to avenge the same, Kaif was beaten with bats and rods. Three accused including two minors were arrested.
“The accused and the victim are from different communities, but there is nothing communal in the incident.” The police said.
Moreover, reacting to the claims made by users, DCP North-West Delhi said, This is an old video in which case has already been registered in PS Jahangir Puri and same is under trial in Court.
