Fact Check: This video is not of Hindu massacre in Bangladesh but of Rohingya dead bodies

Recently, a distressing video has been circulating online, depicting a group of dead bodies lying on the road. Some misleading claims suggest that the video shows the body of a Hindu person who purportedly jumped into a pond to escape being attacked with stones by Muslims. However, D-Intent Data has confirmed that the video is not related to crimes against Hindus in Bangladesh.

Sensitive video circulated with misleading claims as Bangladesh

Several users, influencers and propagandists have shared the sensitive video depicting dead bodies on the road. And made false claims about crimes against Hindus in Bangladesh.

Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter), serial fake news peddler and propagandist account @RealBababanaras wrote. These screams of Bangladeshi Hindus will shake you from within. Yesterday in a video, a Hindu was seen jumping into the pond to save his life, on which Islamists were throwing stones. Today that person’s dead body has been found. But the Jihadi ecosystem in India is saying-All is well.

Another propaganda account Deepak Sharma @SonOfBharat7 has also shared the video and wrote. These screams will shake your soul. Yesterday in a video a Hindu was seen jumping into a pond to save his life. And many Muslims were pelting stones at him. Today the dead body of that person has been found. But the Congress dogs will say. Everything is fine, there is no problem in Bangladesh. (Translated from Hindi)

The truth about the viral video of Bangladesh, Fact Check

As soon as the posts containing the disturbing sensitive video and claims came to our notice, we conducted research and analysis of the video and found that this video is unrelated to the violence against the Hindu community in Bangladesh.

To verify the claims made by the users. Subsequently, we performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google Lens which led us to a video uploaded on a website (alivegore.com). As per the information mentioned, the video shows Rohingya people who were killed in a drone strike by the insurgent Arakan Army. They were targeted when they tried to flee Myanmar. According to reports, dozens of Rohingya people, including children, were killed in an artillery and drone attack that targeted civilians as they tried to flee Myanmar. They were trying to escape violence in Maungdaw town, Rakhine state, by crossing the Naf River into Bangladesh when they were targeted.

Hence, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the video is not related to violence against Hindus in Bangladesh but it shows dead bodies of Rohingyas who were killed in a stone attack by the Arakan Army.
