Fact Check: Old video of man beating up children from Egypt shared as Rajbagh DPS school teacher

A disturbing video has been circulating, falsely alleging that Shakeel Ahmed Ansari, a teacher at DPS in Rajbagh, is shown beating up children. However, D-Intent Data has found that this video is not related to India. It actually originates from Egypt, where it depicts an orphanage manager brutally assaulting young children in 2014. The video shows the manager kicking, hitting with a long stick, and spanking the children.

Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter), @AmitNationlist wrote. This video is being said to be of Rajbagh DPS School teacher Shakeel Ahmed Ansari… Hindus, please repost and find out what the matter is…? (translated from Hindi). Later, he deleted the post.

Another user @Arjun_08013 has also shared the video and wrote, “This video is being said to be of Rajbagh DPS_School teacher Shakeel Ahmed Ansari… Hindus, please repost and find out what the matter is…? Repost as much as you can. (Translated from Hindi).

The truth about the viral video of a teacher beating up children in Rajbagh, Fact Check 

As soon as the posts containing the disturbing visuals came to our notice, we conducted research and analysis of the video and found that this was an old video from Egypt and was unrelated to India. 

To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google Lens. This led us to several media reports containing the same visuals. According to the reports(1, 2, 3), This is an old video of an orphanage manager assaulting children in 2014. According to Egyptian Street, The video shows the manager of ‘Dar Mecca Al-Mokarama Orphanage’ on Al-Haram Street in Giza beating young children by kicking them, hitting them with a long stick and spanking them after they opened the fridge and turned on the television. The manager, identified as Osama Mohamed Othman, is shown brutally beating the orphans and kicking them away, as they run away screaming in pain and crying. Hence, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the video is not from India. But an old incident from Egypt.
