Fact Check: Pakistani boy arranges mother’s second marriage, video circulates with misleading claims

A video of a Pakistani young man expressing heartfelt support for his mother’s remarriage has gone viral, but it is being falsely claimed that he married his mother. The video is circulating on social media alleging that a man in Pakistan married his widowed mother. However, these claims are nothing more than propaganda. The reality is that the son arranged and supported his widowed mother to remarry, enabling her to start a new chapter in her life after dedicating years to raising her children. 

Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter) @Knight491656903 wrote, “In Muslim Pakistan a Son marries his Mother. The societal degradation had reached on melting point. Although its Pakistan so anything can happen !”

The truth about the video of young man married his mother, Fact Check 

As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video. We found that the boy didn’t marry his mother. He supported his mother to remarry and shared his story on social media.

To verify the claims made by the users. We performed relevant keyword searches and found a report regarding the video. A Pakistani media Reviewit.pk reported that Abdul Ahad shared his story on social media. He revealed how his mom was there for them for 18 years and now he wanted her to have a life of her own. He chose to support her and his mother has now gotten married again.

We also located the original post on his Instagram account, where in the comments section, his mother, Madiha Aftab, expressed her gratitude and thanked him.

Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the boy didn’t marry his mother as presented on social media.
