Fact Check

Fact Check: Scripted video of a child being kidnapped at a railway station circulated as a real-life incident

A video showing a child being kidnapped in broad daylight at a railway platform is being shared as a real incident. However, our investigation found that the video is entirely scripted and does not depict a real-life event. It was created by content creator Raj Thakur, who produces such videos for entertainment and audience engagement.

Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter), @SKkhare11 wrote, “Be careful brothers…. whenever you travel with small children…be careful”

Another account, @subh_09910468, also shared the video and wrote, “Be careful brothers…. whenever you travel with small children…be careful” Later, he deleted the post.

Several other users and Influencers have also disseminated the video and made similar claims. Their posts can be seen here: @Ashwathama16234, @TodayXpress24x7, @mayor610.

The truth about the video, Fact Check

As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video. We found that the video was not a real-life situation but scripted content.

To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video using Google Lens. This led us to an Instagram post containing the same video. It also includes a disclaimer that reads, This video is scripted, created for entertainment and awareness purposes.

The video was uploaded on the Instagram and YouTube channel of Raj Thakur, who produces such videos for entertainment and audience engagement. However, he deleted the video but released a statement and clarified that all the videos uploaded on my Instagram and YouTube channel are scripted, not real.

Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the video was not a real-life situation but scripted content.
