Fact Check: The Chief Adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government Muhammad Yunus called Donald Trump “Messiah”?

Following Donald Trump’s magnificent victory in the 2024 US Presidential Elections, a fabricated statement attributed to Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government, has been circulated, claiming that in his congratulatory message to Donald Trump, he referred to Trump as a “Messiah.” However, D-Intent Data has found that the statement is entirely fabricated and self-invented. Muhammad Yunus did not use such words in his original statement.

Sharing the statement on X (Formerly Twitter), @salah_shoaib wrote. Just In: Friend of Clintons and Soros, Muhammad Yunus now sees “messiah” in Trump. In a message, Yunus termed @realDonaldTrump – the “President of the free world” and “messiah” he has been “waiting for”. Interestingly, when Trump in his Diwali message strongly condemned “barbaric violence against Hindus” in Bangladesh, press secretary of Bangladesh’s interim regime’s chief advisor rubbished it stating it might have been “influenced by lobbyists”. Later, he deleted the post.
