Recently violent protests erupted across Bangladesh against quotas for government jobs in Bangladesh. At least 130 people have been killed and multiple injuries reported so far. Now, Pakistan-based and Bangladesh-based anti-India propaganda accounts are circulating a video of The Indian Army convoy, and claiming that The Indian Army entered Bangladesh from West Bengal to help the Sheikh Hasina govt. However, D-Intent Data has found that the video of the Indian Army convoy is old. And has nothing to do with ongoing student protests in Bangladesh.
Old video of Indian Army entered Bangladesh disseminated by propagandists
Pakistan-based and Bangladesh-based anti-India propaganda accounts have disseminated the video of the Indian Army convoy and linked it to the ongoing student protests in Bangladesh.
Serial fake news peddler, Pakistan-based anti-India propaganda account @Pak1stTeam has shared the video on X (Formerly Twitter) and wrote. A company of Indian army moving into Bangladesh from West Bengal. Hassina regime has imposed curfew and called in military and also sought help from India to crush the protests with fire power. Bloodthirsty Hindutva regime will kill Muslims & keep Hassina in power.
Another anti-India propaganda from Bangladesh @FaryalBD has also shared the video and said. A company of the Indian Army is entering Bangladesh from West Bengal. The Hasina government has sought India’s help in suppressing the protests by imposing a curfew. The bloodthirsty Hindutva government will kill Muslims and keep Sheikh Hasina in power.

Along with the video, an image featuring tanks and armoured vehicles moving through the city streets is also being circulated with the same claims @PakResist
Truth about the video where Indian Army entered Bangladesh, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the video of the Indian army convoy came to our notice, we conducted research and found that the video was old and not related to the ongoing student protests in Bangladesh.
To verify the claims made by the propagandists, we did a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google which led us to a Facebook post containing the same video uploaded in June 2022.

The location and details of the video are not mentioned but from this post, it is confirmed that the video is old and has nothing to do with the ongoing student protests in Bangladesh.
During research, we found that the image of tanks moving through the street was posted by Fiona Lali, the National Campaigns Coordinator of the Revolutionary Communist Party in Britain. Sharing the image she wrote. “I am getting reports that 49 students have been killed in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) are indiscriminately attacking and firing at students. Several tanks and APCs (Armored personnel carriers) from Dhaka Cantonment were seen moving through city streets this afternoon”.
Hence, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the video of the Indian Army convoy is old and not related to the ongoing student protests in Bangladesh.
