A video showing a person manually operating a railway crossing or level crossing has been circulated with the claim that it is from India. However, this video actually originates from Bangladesh. In India, railway crossings are equipped with sensors or manual controls that detect approaching trains, activate warning signals, lower barriers, and synchronize with signal systems to ensure road safety. The barriers remain closed until the train has passed, after which the gates reopen.
Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter) racist propaganda account @interesting_aIl wrote, “A single Indian man controls this rail crossing”. The post has received more than 345k views, 2k likes and a significant number of engagements.

The truth about the video shared as Bangladesh, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video. We found that the video was not from India but from Bangladesh.
Upon closer inspection of the video, it is evident that the trains feature the Bangladesh Railway logo and have the words “বাংলাদেশ রেলওয়ে” displayed on their coaches. In India, railway crossings utilize sensors or manual controls to detect trains, activate warning signals, lower barriers, and interlock with signals, ensuring road safety until the train passes and the gates reopen. In contrast, railway crossings in Bangladesh often face safety issues due to unprotected gates, malfunctioning signals, and inadequate infrastructure.

Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the video was not related to the Indian Railways. It was related to Bangladesh Railways.
