Sensitive and disturbing visuals are being widely circulated on social media, with claims that they depict religious hate violence targeting Hindus in Bangladesh. However, these videos are unrelated to religious conflicts. They are actually from a recent violent clash that took place at Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College (DMRC) in Bangladesh. The clash involved students from different institutions.

The truth about the video shared as violence against Hindus, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the visuals and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the incident and found that it was a clash between students from different institutions. Not related to religious hate crimes against Hindus.
To verify the claims made by the users. We analysed the video and found “Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College” written on the building featured in the video. Further, we ran a relevant keyword search and found multiple reports regarding the incident.

According to the reports (1, 2, 3, 4), these visuals actually depict a recent violent clash that took place at Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College (DMRC) in Bangladesh. The incident involved a confrontation between students of DMRC and those from other institutions, including Kabi Nazrul Government College and Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College. The violence escalated to a severe level, tragically resulting in the deaths of three students (claimed) and leaving many others with serious injuries.
The tension sparked after Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College students carried out extensive vandalism and looting in Dhaka National Medical College and Shaheed Suhrawardy College campuses. The Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College students claimed a student named Avijit Hawlader died due to wrong treatment at Dhaka National Medical College. DMRC also released a statement regarding the violent clash, read here.
Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the video was not related to religious violence targeting Hindus. But a clash between students between different institutions.
