A sensitive video showing seriously injured individuals or dead bodies inside a house has been circulated with claims of atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh amid current violence. However, these claims are false, the video has been online for at least two months and initial reports indicate that it depicts an incident in Myanmar. In June 2024, three Rohingyas were killed and six others seriously injured in an explosion at a village in Rakhine state.
Serial fake news peddler and propagandist account @ajaychauhan41 on X (Formerly Twitter) has shared the video. And claimed to be of atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. Sharing the video he wrote, “Speechless, save Bangladeshi Hindus”. The video has contained a sentence that reads, Hindu women and children being killed inside their homes in Bangladesh. As of now, the post has received more than 540k views, 5.9k likes and a significant number of engagements.

The truth about the viral video of Atrocities Against Hindus in Bangladesh, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the sensitive visuals and claims came to our notice, we conducted research and analysis of the video and found that the video was old and unrelated to the ongoing violence in Bangladesh.
To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google Lens. This led us to initial posts and reporting containing the same visuals. According to the initial post(Archive). Three Rohingyas were killed on the spot due to a large-scale explosion in Maungdaw, with six others seriously injured. On June 9, 2024, in Rakhine State, a house was attacked in Habi West Village, Bakar Gongna Village, Maungdaw Township. The explosion of a large weapon just before 11:00 AM killed three members of a family on the spot and seriously injured six others.
According to reports(1, 2), many Rohingya were killed and injured in a drone attack. Involving the Myanmar military and the Arakan Army in Maungdaw, Rakhine State, Myanmar, on June 9th at around 10:45 a.m. The deceased were identified as Nur Nahar, daughter of Abdul Kadair, 55, Mohammad Juhar, son of Hasan Ahmed, 50, Dil Bahar, wife of Mohammad Juhar, and their three children: Noju, Safa, and Kayad Nur. All victims were from the same family connected to Nur Nahar. The video is not from Bangladesh, but an old incident from Myanmar.
