Fact Check: Viral Video Falsely Claims to Show Indian Citizens. It’s from Bangladesh

A comedy video featuring three individuals engaged in inappropriate behavior is being circulated by anti-India propaganda accounts with claims that it shows Indian citizens. These claims are completely false and misleading. The video is not from India. It originates from Bangladesh, where it was originally uploaded by a Bangladeshi content creator named Holokhana TV on Facebook and YouTube. There is no verified evidence suggesting that the individuals in the video are Indian or that it was filmed in India.

An account named @Codex_India3 shared the misleading video with the caption:

“Giving Indians camera phones and an internet connection was a huge mistake.”

This post attempted to ridicule Indian citizens using unrelated foreign content, misleading users about the video’s actual origin.

Truth: The video is from Bangladesh, not India

As the false claim gained traction on social media, it drew our attention. The D-Intent Data Team conducted a detailed frame-by-frame investigation and keyword research. Our analysis led us to the official Facebook page of Holokhana TV, which frequently posts comedy skits and short videos from Bangladesh.

The same video was also found on the Holokhana TV YouTube channel, confirming that the footage was created and uploaded by Bangladeshi content creators.

There is no credible source or location data linking the clip to India. The setting, language, and production style all align with Bangladeshi entertainment content. Hence, the claim that the individuals are Indian is entirely baseless.

Intent:

Propaganda accounts are circulating inappropriate content with self-invented claims to set their narrative against India.
