False Claim: Video Shows Man Arrested for Ransacking Right-Wing Rally in Angers, France

1. The video in question began circulating on social media, accompanied by claims that the man being detained was a rioter attempting to vandalize the premises of the right-wing student rally in Angers, France. [Source: Twitter]

2. In the video, the man is wearing a black t-shirt with the word “Polis” clearly visible, resembling a Swedish police uniform. This detail caught the attention of astute observers, leading them to question the video’s authenticity in relation to the #FranceRiots2023. 

3. We swiftly debunked the misinformation, confirming that the video actually originates from Sweden and has no connection to the ongoing protests in France.

4. Further investigation revealed that the man depicted in the video was actually involved in a separate incident in Sweden, related to a Quran burning protest. He was subsequently arrested by Swedish law enforcement. It is essential to note that this event has no relevance to the situation in France.
