A video is being circulated in which a man & a woman can be heard singing a song while sitting on a park seat outside of the house. The video has been shared (Archived ) by the communist and left-wing sympathiser Prashant Bhushan with the claim that one of them is a Kuki & the other is Meitei from Sizzling Manipur. The video of father-daughter duo is from Dehradun and falsely linked with Manipur’s Kuki, Meitei communities and Manipur violence. Know the truth.
Research, Analysis and Fact
To verify the claims made by Prashant Bhushan we did a reverse image search that led us to the origin of the video. We found the woman’s Facebook account named Shekinah Mukhiya where she posted the video in May 2023 captioned, “Me and Papa decided to cover this beautiful song” Hence this is a father-daughter duo belonging to the same community. The claims made by Prashant Bhushan were found to be false. The daughter-father duo are from Dehradun. She also uploaded the same video on her YouTube channel that can be found here.
