A few days ago, a video of a fight started making rounds on social media. The misleading video was claimed to be a direct clash between migrants and the police on the island of Lampedusa in Italy. The Real Story
The truth, however, is quite different. This is an old video from Marotta di Mondolfo, where a clash broke out between drunken people and Carabinieri, Italian paramilitary police in 2021. Moreover, the violent fight involved dozens of young people who were exiting a music event at the Miu Club in Marotta. The fight began between a young Albanian man and a Senegalese man and quickly escalated into a large-scale fight that included stabbings. Some reports suggest the conflict originated from drug-related disputes. Four individuals were identified and arrested following the incident. Moreover, this video doesn’t have anything related to migrants in Italy and is completely misleading.
