It has been claimed in a shared video that a paraglider belonging to the #Hamas brand crashed into high-voltage electricity during the ongoing conflict.

Verified profiles on the twitter, including, Joel Fischer (“@realJoelFischer“), wrote about the incident with the caption “Hamas paraglider crashes into high-voltage electric power line and Immediately met his 72 virgins.” He has received an about 38k views after sharing his views about the incident. Several other users agreed and claimed the same after resharing his twitter post. He later deleted his tweet.

We did a proper research and analysis to find out the truth about the incident that was going viral across the social media during the ongoing confict between Israel and Hamas. Prominent figures on the social media are sharing an old South Korean videos purporting to show Hamas terrorists.

The truth about the video is that this video originates from South Korea, and is not at all related to the current Israel – Palestine conflict.

The actual incident took place near Seopjikoji Beach, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, on June 16, 2023. A tourist in his 60s who was paragliding in the area became entangled in a high-voltage wire about 16 metres away. An electrocution accident involving a current of about 22,900V occurred.

The specifics of the accident are being looked into by the police.
