Bengaluru, Karnataka — Pakistani Propagandists Circulate Cylinder Blast Visuals as Bomb Blast in Bengaluru: Fact-Check

Pakistani self-proclaimed journalists circulated a cylinder blast as a bomb blast in Bangalore and questioned security ahead of the PAK vs AUS match.

Farid Khan (“@_FaridKhan“), one of the verified profiles on twitter, was concerned after the incident went viral and wrote that a Blast happened in Bangalore’s Mudpipe Cafe. He added that hopefully Everyone is safe. He was concerned that Pakistan’s team practised that day in Bangalore ahead of their match against Australia in two days.

Wajahat Kazmi (“@KazmiWajahat“), the Anchorperson, Journalist and Analyst shared the video on X with the caption “Blast in Bangalore. And they say India is safe. Pakistan must raise security concerns for the cricket team which is currently in this city and have their match against Australia on Friday.”

Sports Writer and Reporter at @Dawn_News, imran Siddique (“@imransiddique89“) also raised the Security concern for Pakistan and other Teams in World Cup after the blast in Bangalore. Many other verified profiles, including Ehtisham Siddique (“@iMShami_“), Hamxa (“@hamxashahbax21“), @Iam_hassan10, Saqib Khan (“@saqib_khannn“), @Rnawaz31888, @HafsaSiddd claimed the same that India isn’t a safe country for big events like ICC Cricket World Cup after the blast took place in Bangalore.

Is the Incident in Bangalore really a Security Threat? : Fact

A normal cylinder blast caused a massive fire at the Mudpipe Cafe in Suddaguntepalya, Bengaluru, injuring one person. Pakistanis’ claims are false and without foundation. The incident has no relation with any security threat.

We visited The NEWS Minute , which published an article on this incident on Oct 18,2023. It attached the images from the incident which shows the top floor of the building completely engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke billowing from it.

On Wednesday, October 18, the cylinder explosion sparked a massive fire at the Mudpipe Cafe in Suddaguntepalya, Bengaluru. The incident has reportedly injured one person. The cafe is on Hosur Road, near Forum Mall, and opposite Prestige Acropolis. The fire engulfed the building’s upper floors, including the cafe on the fourth floor. The fire also spread to Cult Fitness, which is located on the same floor as Mudpipe Cafe. AUS vs PAK match took place in Bengaluru on October 20, 2023.

Fact: n reality, a normal cylinder blast caused a massive fire at the Mudpipe Cafe in Suddaguntepalya, Bengaluru, injuring one person. The claims made by Pakistanis are false.
