Photos of three dead people have been circulating with false allegations that Meiteis killed a Kuki-Zo family, who was waylaid and bludgeoned to death while they were travelling to the village for a family event.

What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

The same photos, which are from Bangladesh, where these three individuals were killed by terrorists in Bandraban in May 2023, have appeared in several news reports. It’s not related to Manipur at all.

An article regarding the same incident was published on May 8, 2023 with the headline “Terrorists shot again in Bandarban, killed 3”.

User circulates old images from Bangladesh with false claims to fuel the unrest in the state. Several users on the social media circulated few images and claimed that the images are of three dead individuals, where a Kuki-Zo family was waylaid and bludgeoned to death by Meiteis on their way to the village for a family program. But, after proper research, analysis and fact-checking, we found out that the images are from Bangladesh, where these three individuals were killed by terrorists in Bandraban in May 2023, which have appeared in several news reports. It’s not related to Manipur at all.
