A false narrative based on an outdated video is making the rounds, claiming that a Hindu youth harassed a South Korean content creator while live streaming in Mumbai, India.
Several accounts on twitter, including Uncivilised Projects (“@UPoojeets”) tweeted “A South Korean content creator was harassed by cHindu while live streaming in Mumbai, India”. The tweet was later deleted.
@ShaykhSulaiman tweeted “INDIAN HARASSES KOREAN WOMAN IN INDIA” on March 16, 2024 regarding this incident.
What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact
The incident in question occurred in December of 2022, and the youths who were accused were Muslim. Based solely on the video, Mumbai Police’s Khar Police have independently filed a sexual assault case. Mobeen Chand Mohd Shaikh, 19, and Mohd Naqib Sadarialam Ansari, 20, were named as the accused.

Also, Ndtv posted an article with the headline “South Korean YouTuber Harassed In Mumbai While Live-streaming, 2 Arrested” on December 1, 2022, which clarified in details about the real truth of the incident.

In this regard, both the accused have been arrested and booked under relevant sections of the IPC. #WomensSafety” on Dec 1, 2022.
