Influencers claimed that wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who was defeated at the National Trials in the 53kg weight category, she had failed to represent India at the upcoming Olympic. She was one of the wrestlers who wanted to ‘Immerse Medals ” in Ganga.

Verified accounts on twitter, including @MrSinha_ tweeted “After Bajrang Puniya, Vinesh Phogat also lost in National trials & missed a chance to represent India in Olympics. A young wrestler Anju defeated her by 10-0.. Yes 10-0, it was a one sided match. I wish she was more interested in her game, instead of protesting for political reasons..” on March 11, 2024. The tweet has received an about 972.1k views on X.

Several other accounts, including @VertigoWarrior, @rishibagree, @_tapabrata_jana made the same claim that Wrestler Vinesh Phogat loses 0-10 to the junjor wrestler Anju in the 53 kg category in semifinals. In the 50kg weight category, she won 11-6 against Shivani to secure a spot in the Paris Olympics Qualification tournament in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, the following month.
