Verified accounts on twitter, including @AsianDigest tweeted “UP: Hindu Extremist carry guns in Muslim localities and harass people by throwing Holi colors #Molestationfestival” on March 25, 2024. The tweet has received an about 41.3k views on X.

Several other accounts, including @karishma_aziz97 made the same claim that the video from Uttar Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh shows Extremist Hindus harm individuals by throwing Holi colours at them and carrying guns in Muslim areas. The archive can be read from above.

The truth is that these assertions are fake and unfounded. The police claim that there was a fight between two groups in the same community during which one of the groups opened fire, although no one was injured. A case has been filed in response to the victim’s allegation, and the accused is on the lookout for arrest. It is not related to religion in any way.

Further, @bareillypolice again tweeted “There was a dispute between two parties of the same community in Police Station Baradari, Bareilly area, in which one party resorted to firing which did not hit anyone.
