Fact-Check — Video of Man Making Objectionable Remarks About India From Jaipur, Circulated as Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh 

A video purporting to be from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, has gone viral, featuring a man from a minority community using inappropriate language and making offensive remarks about India.

@manojak82118538 made the same claim in a twiiter post that a Muslim made objectionable remarks about India while using abusive language in Azamgarh, UP.

What is the Actual Truth About this Incident? : Fact

In actuality, this video is from Jaipur East in Rajasthan. It has nothing to do with Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh. The claim is absolutely misleading.

The official account of @azamgarhpolice tweeted “This video is not related to Azamgarh district. Hence this post is false and misleading, remove it immediately otherwise legal action will be taken. The above video is related to #जयपुर_राजस्थान . FIR No. 42/2024 is registered at Motidungri police station (Jaipur East).@jaipur_police” on April 8, 2024.

Intent:

Political influencers are circulating sensitive videos from Rajasthan claiming to be from Uttar Pradesh to create communal disharmony. A man claiming to be from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, is shown in a video released online making derogatory statements against India while using abusive language. Fact is that this video is from Rajasthan’s Jaipur East. Nothing to do with Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh.

Conclusion:

Fact : The footage in question originates from Jaipur East in Rajasthan. Not at all related to Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh.
