A video featuring the accused admitting to the crime has gone viral, claiming that a man from a specific community in Saharanpur pushed a Hindu girl who was sitting on a bridge into the river because he hated Hindus.

Verified account on X “@bhagwakrantee” shared the video claiming that a girl was sitting on the riverbank in Saharanpur when a man from a certain background sat down next to her. After a while, he shoved the girl, causing her to fall into the river. She revealed during the police interrogation, it was said that she was a Hindu girl, and was pushed because he felt like pushing her and struck her.

Truth Behind the Incident in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh: Fact

It is actually an old video from Saharanpur, where in July 2021, Asif and his friend Tayyab pushed the girl into the river. She was pressuring Asif to wed her even though Asif was already married. She had travelled from Andhra Pradesh to Saharanpur. The accused and Victim (Taslima) belonged to the same community. The incident has nothing to do with any religious claims.

amarujala published the article on Aug 4,2021 regarding the incident. The accused stated during questioning that Asif was already married, but Taslima insisted on getting married. Following this, Asif arranged for his friend to assist him in getting rid of Taslima.

Taslima, a 24-year-old resident of the Vijayawada district of Andhra Pradesh and the daughter of Nazir Ahmed, recently met Asif in Hyderabad. They started chatting on the phone and became friends. Taslima was met a few days ago in Delhi by Asif Mankamau resident and his friend Tayyab, who took her to Saharanpur with them in their car. Asif kept Taslima in various rental properties. Additionally, the girl had brought with her roughly ten tola of gold jewellery.

Regarding Taslima’s disappearance, family members had lodged a missing person’s complaint in Vijayawada. Andhra Pradesh Police arrived at Kotwali Mandi in Saharanpur on Monday morning, based on the call details. Local law enforcement assisted in the capture of Asif and Tayyab. Taslima was pushed into the river by Asif, he acknowledged.
