Fact Check: Scripted video of Muslim men helping Hindu individual in the market goes viral as real incident

A video circulating online portrays two Muslim men helping a Hindu individual in a market, with the implication that it is a real-life event. However, D-Intent Data has found that the video is entirely scripted and does not depict actual events.

In the 56-second video, a man, pretending to be a Hindu, stops two Muslim men riding a bike and requests that they pay for his food bill at a restaurant as he came from Delhi and ran out of money. The Muslim men initially asked him not to record the video. When the man insists on focusing on their religious identities, suggesting that their help is significant because they are Muslim aiding a Hindu. The two men respond by emphasizing that their actions are driven by a sense of humanity rather than religion. They further clarify that Hindus and Muslims coexist peacefully in the country.
