A video showing a group of people pelting stones at a military convoy is being widely circulated on social media with the claim that it depicts a recent incident from Jammu and Kashmir. However, our investigation reveals that this is an old video, originally shared on May 3, 2025.
Propagandist account @ManojSr60583090, posted this video with the false context that it showed local residents in Jammu and Kashmir attacking an Indian military convoy:
This is from Jammu and Kashmir
After the ceasefire
CRPF-CISF troops were returning
That’s when the traitor Muslims
Stone pelting on security force convoy
History of Muslims in India
There has been deception, betrayal, treachery
Believe in this ignorant group
means digging your own grave

Another propagandist account @FrontalForce also pushed this misleading clip on their timeline:
The grand welcome for the #PakistanArmy in Pakistan Occupied Jammu & Kashmir.l

A user @sanatani_6, posted this viral clip claiming it showed recent unrest in Jammu and Kashmir, further fueling the misinformation around the video.
Treason again on the return of soldiers to Kashmir! Stone pelters attacked CRPF-CISF convoy from the mountains. The retaliatory air firing caused a stampede, 9 traitors fell down the mountain. This is their hypocrisy and the truth of Kashmir
Don’t spend even five paise when you go to Kashmir The government will keep an eye on Kashmir

Several users and influencers @pathakashokbjp, @Ltcolonelvikas have started pushing this misleading content to stir public emotion and build a false narrative.
Truth Behind the Viral Stone-Pelting Video:
When this viral clip gained attention, the D-Intent Data Team immediately launched an investigation. Through a detailed frame-by-frame analysis and reverse image search, we traced the video to an Instagram post dated May 3, 2025, which claimed the footage was from May 13, 2024. Our findings indicate that the video allegedly depicts an incident in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), not in J&K, India. There are no verified reports or credible sources confirming that the clip is linked to any recent unrest in Jammu and Kashmir. Nor is there any evidence suggesting that local residents were targeting Indian security personnel, as claimed in these posts.

Our investigation confirms that this is an old video being recycled with a false context to mislead viewers and provoke communal and regional tension.
