An image showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacting with a woman seated at a sewing machine in an indoor setting is being circulated with misleading claims. Posts allege that the woman was photographed inside her own hut, humorously suggesting she wore an ID card inside her home and had halogen lights installed for photography. These claims are false. The image was actually taken at the YashoBhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka, Delhi not in a private home. Wearing an ID card is mandatory at the venue. The photo was originally shared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself in September 2023 during the inauguration of the convention center.
an Propagandist Accounts @Gabbar0099 and @advsanjoy posted the image with captions like:
“Such a sweet lady. She wears an ID card in her own neatly painted hut just in case she got lost and also has a halogen light installed to give better light for any photoshoot.”

These posts were intended to mock the event and mislead users about the image’s actual context.
Truth: The photo was taken at YashoBhoomi Convention Centre, not inside a home
As the false claim gained traction on social media, it drew our attention. The D-Intent Data Team conducted a reverse image research and keyword research. Our investigation led us to the official post by Prime Minister Narendra Modi (@narendramodi), where he shared the image with the caption:
“India’s artisanal diversity on display at Yashobhoomi!”

Further verification through credible media sources including The Economic Times, The Hindu, and India Today confirmed that the event was the inauguration of the YashoBhoomi International Convention and Expo Centre on September 17, 2023.

The event marked the launch of the convention center’s first phase and was covered widely by national media. Reports also confirmed that YashoBhoomi is connected to the Delhi Airport Metro Express line, with a new metro station inaugurated at Dwarka Sector 25. The image was captured at the venue, where all participants and exhibitors were required to wear official ID cards, as per protocol.
