Fact check: A Muslim man in Bangladesh killed his Hindu wife after she found out about his adultery?

An image of a woman is being circulated with the claim that Muhammad Sajid brutally murdered his Hindu wife Juhi, and dismembered her into seven pieces after she discovered his adultery in Bangladesh, while some attribute it to Pakistan. However, according to reports,  this is an old incident from India where a man named Sajid killed his wife Juhi when she threatened him to act against his affairs with another woman.

Sharing the image on X (Formerly Twitter) @The_viralvideo_ wrote, Another Disturbing News from Bangladesh! Muhammad Sajid brutally murdered his Hindu wife, Juhi, chopping her into 7 pieces & disposing of her remains with brothers Ishteyaque & Hasmat’s help! After she uncovered his infidelity.

Another account @vopm_urdu also made a post and wrote, In Pakistan, Muhammad Sajid brutally murdered his Hindu wife Juhi, dismembered her into seven pieces after she discovered his adultery, and with the assistance of his brothers Ishteyaque and Hasmat, disposed of her remains.

The truth about the claims shared as from Bangladesh, Fact Check 

As soon as the posts containing the image and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the incident and found that the incident did not originate in Pakistan or Bangladesh. But was, in fact, an old incident from India. 

To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search using Google Lens. This led us to several media reports containing the same image. According to the media reports (1, 2), this is an old incident from India where a man named Sajid killed his wife Juhi when she threatened him to act against his affairs with another woman. The incident occurred in June 2018, in Delhi. Hence, it has nothing to do with Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Therefore, it is evident from D-Intent Data’s Fact Check that the incident was old and unrelated to Pakistan and Bangladesh.
