Fact Check: Gal Gadot’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Vandalized amid pro-Palestinian protests?

An image of a damaged star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is circulating with the false claim that pro-Palestine activists vandalized Israeli actress Gal Gadot’s star, which she recently received. However, the image actually dates back to 2018 and depicts the destruction of Donald Trump’s star in July of that year. While Gal Gadot’s star ceremony on March 18, 2025, was marked by protests from both pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel groups, there is no verified or credible evidence to suggest that her star was vandalized.

Sharing the image on X (Formerly Twitter) @orenbarsky wrote, “So they ‘freed Palestine’ by ruining Gal Gadot’s star. Once again, they show us the culture of hatred and destruction they represent.” Later, he deleted the post.

Another account @SilentlySirs also shared the image and wrote, “Gal Gadot’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was destroyed just hours after being placed!”

Several other users and Influencers have also disseminated the image and made similar claims. Their posts can be seen here, @roastruler, @cripsextremist.

The truth behind the claims about Gal Gadot’s star, Fact Check

As soon as the posts containing the image and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the image. We found that the image was not recent and unrelated to Gadot’s star.

To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search using Google Lens. This led us to media reports containing the same visuals uploaded in July 2018. According to reports (1, 2), this is an old image from 2018 and shows Donald Trump’s star, which was destroyed in July of that year. However, Gadot’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony on March 18, 2025, was disrupted by protests from both pro-Palestinian and pro-Israel demonstrators but there are no verified and credible sources suggest that Gadot’s star was vandalized.

Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the image was old and unrelated to Gal Gadot.
