Fact Check: Ghaziabad maid caught mixing urine in food, influencers circulate communal claims

Claims have emerged regarding a maid in Ghaziabad allegedly cooking food using human urine, with the incident being sensationalized by emphasizing the accused woman’s supposed Muslim identity through terms like Jihad. However, according to the media reports the woman has been identified as Reena, wife of Pramod Kumar, indicating she is not from the Muslim community. Following the allegations, she has been arrested and further action is being taken.

Making a post on X (Formerly Twitter) @gaurav5pandey wrote. Urine Jihad after spit… A maid who used to serve food after defecating in kitchen utensils has been caught in Ghaziabad. She used to cook food for a businessman’s family. When the family got suspicious and installed CCTV cameras in the house, the matter was revealed. The police have arrested the woman and are investigating the CCTV footage. (Translated from Hindi)

As soon as the posts containing the claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the claims and found that the woman didn’t belong to the Muslim community but a different community. 

To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a relevant keyword search and found media reports regarding the incident. According to the media reports, the accused woman has been identified as Reena, wife of Pramod Kumar. She has been working for eight years.

The Ghaziabad Police released a statement and said, the accused woman has been arrested and further action is being taken. 

Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the accused was not from the Muslim community but from a different community.
