An image is being circulated by anti-India propagandists and extremist accounts, falsely claiming that an Indian-origin man named Nikhil Gupta was sentenced to three years in the United Kingdom for sexually assaulting a chicken. These claims are completely false and fabricated. The image actually depicts a man named Rehan Baig. He was sentenced to three years in prison in 2020 for sexually abusing chickens.

Another propaganda account @dhruvrahtee also shared the news and wrote. “Nikhil Gupta was sentenced to 3 years in prison in the United Kingdom for sexually assaulting a chicken”. Later, he deleted the post.

The truth about the viral image and claims, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the image and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the image and found that the image was old and unrelated to any Hindu Individuals.
To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search on Google Lens. This led us to several media reports containing the same image. According to the media reports( 1, 2), the image used in the post depicts a man named Rehan Baig who was jailed for three years for sexually abusing chickens in 2020. He was a resident of Bradford, West Yorkshire and his wife Haleena had filmed the incident.
Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the image was old and unrelated to any Indian-origin Hindu individual in the UK.
