Fact Check: Old video of gym trainer in Trinidad and Tobago touching woman inappropriately circulated as India with communal claims

A video allegedly showing a gym trainer inappropriately touching a woman in a public gym has been shared on social media with the claim that it is from Delhi. The posts assert that the man in the video, identified as Bilal Ahmed Khan, was deliberately targeting a Hindu woman to trap her. However, these claims are entirely false and misleading. In reality, the video is neither recent nor from India. It is an old clip from Trinidad and Tobago and features a man named Imran Razac and his wife, Reshma Razac.

Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter) propagandist account @INarsinghvani wrote, “You are watching this video of women gym. This is Bilal Ahmed Khan’s gym. This is his second gym in Krishna Nagar and there are many such women gyms in Hindu dominated posh colonies of entire Delhi”. Read the full post here.

Several other users and Influencers have also shared the video and made similar claims. Their posts can be seen here, @Sudhir_mish, @Kapilmunitiwari

The truth about the viral video, Fact Check

As soon as the posts containing the sensitive video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video and found that the video was old and unrelated to Indian and Hindu women.

To verify the users’ claims, we conducted a reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video using Google Lens. This search led us to a Facebook post featuring the same video, uploaded in 2017 on a page named “BodybyImran.” The post included several hashtags, such as “husband and wife,” and also tagged his wife’s account.

We found their Instagram accounts (Imran Razac and Reshma Razac), where they repeatedly referred to each other as husband and wife, confirming their relationship. Their Instagram bios also indicate that they reside in Trinidad and Tobago, not India.

Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the video was old and unrelated to Indian and Hindu women.

Intent

Influencers are circulating old videos from Trinidad and Tobago with misleading claims to set their narrative based on religion in India.
