A sensitive video depicting an individual chopping off his index finger has been circulated online with claims that a frustrated man in Karnataka chopped his finger with which he voted for the Congress party in Karnataka because he couldn’t see any more atrocities against Hindus in the state. However, D-Intent Data has found that this is an old video from Thane, Maharashtra where a man chopped his finger over police inaction in a suicide case of his brother in August 2023.
Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter), Vijay Shukla (@vijaysh86492406 ) This video is said to be from Karnataka. What did a voter say and do after being saddened by the atrocities being committed on Hindus? Today I am cutting the same finger with which I had voted for Congress in the Karnataka elections. This was the biggest mistake of my life that I had voted for Congress. ( Translated from Hindi)
