The video shows a massive crowd of young men destroying the railway station and creating ruckus around the station premises. The video has gone viral with the claim that these people are destroying the Mahishasur railway station because the sound of train whistle disturbed their Namaz. However, D-Intent Data has found that this is an old video of anti-CAA protestors.

Several users have shared the video of a violent crowd vandalizing the railway station. And claimed that it was destroyed because the train horn interrupted their religious players.

Sharing the video, @mini_razdan10 on X (Formerly Twitter) has said. “Mahishashur raillway station in murshidabad w.bengal being destroyed saying that sound of train whistle is disturbing their namaz. Enjoy & reap the fruits of Secularism.”

Another user @JPG2311 on X has also shared the video and said. Mahishashur Railway Station in West Bengal being destroyed by Piecefuls saying that sound of train whistle caused “disturbance in their namaz. Railway should take note of it’s mistake.

As soon as the posts containing the video of a violent crowd vandalizing the railway station came to our knowledge. We did a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google and found several posts containing the same visuals. According to reports, This is an old video from 2019. When a massive crowd of anti-CAA protestors destroyed Naopara Mahishasur railway station during the protest.

Moreover, the same incident video was also uploaded on YouTube in December 2019 with the caption. “Anti-CAB and NRC protest march at Naopara Mahisasur station in Sagardighi”

Hence, It is clear from D-Intent Data’s fact-check that the video of a crowd destroying railway station in West Bengal is not recent and has nothing to do with religious prayers.
