As soon as the posts containing the sensitive video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video. We found that the video was not from Bangladesh but an old incident from India’s West Bengal.
To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video using Google Lens. This led us to media reports regarding the incident. According to the reports (1, 2), this is an old video from West Bengal, India, where a woman’s body was discovered at a maize field in Malda, in February 2024. The incident is unrelated to Bangladesh.
Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the video was not related to Bangladesh violence. It was an old video from West Bengal, India.
