Fact Check: Shehbaz Sharif Did Not Call PM Modi a Terrorist

Pakistan-based propaganda accounts are spreading false and fabricated claims alleging that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi a terrorist during the 2025 SCO summit in Tianjin. These claims are entirely baseless. There is no evidence to support such allegations. In his entire address at the SCO summit, PM Sharif did not use such language against PM Modi at any point.

The false claim was initially pushed by the propagandist account @TheDailyCPEC, which alleged that Shehbaz Sharif called PM Modi a terrorist directly in front of him.

The post was amplified by other Pakistan-based accounts including @shamsery, @w_taj728206, and @Saiem_haqqani, who captioned it as “Homie spittin facts”, attempting to make the fabricated narrative appear real.

Truth: No Evidence of Alleged Statement

As this claim gained traction, it drew our attention. The D-Intent Data Team conducted a thorough investigation using keyword research and verified sources, including the Aaj TV Official YouTube channel that covers the 2025 SCO Summit in Tianjin. Our review confirms that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif did not call Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi a terrorist at any point. There is no credible evidence supporting this allegation, making the circulating claim entirely false and fabricated.
