A recent video showing water emerging from cracks in the asphalt due to pressure has been circulating with claims that it is from India. However, this video originates from Villa Nueva, Guatemala, and is unrelated to India. Reports from the National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (Conred) confirmed the presence of a “crack” in the asphalt at kilometer 14 of the CA-9 route to the Pacific in Villa Nueva.
Sharing the video on X (Formerly Twitter) propagandist account @iamharmeetK wrote, “Modi ji what kind of technology is this”. As of now, the post has received more than 800k views, 8k likes and a significant number of engagements.
Congress media panellist Surendra Rajput has also shared the video and wrote, “Congratulations on your birthday for road-breaking development sir”. The post has received more than 290k views and a significant number of likes and engagements.

The truth about the video, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the video and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the video and found that the video is not from India. But from Guatemala.
To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search of some key frames from the viral video on Google Lens. This led us to several media reports containing the same visuals. According to the media reports, the video was from Guatemala. The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (Conred) confirmed the existence of a “crack” in the asphalt at kilometer 14 of the CA-9, route to the Pacific, in the jurisdiction of Villa Nueva.
