A sensitive image showing a young boy hanging from a pole has circulated, claiming that a 10-year-old child was hanged by Israeli Occupation Forces in Ramallah. However, media reports indicate that police reviewed surveillance footage and found that the child accidentally hanged himself while playing. There are no reports of involvement from the IDF.
Sharing the image on X (Formerly Twitter) propagandist account @Nadira_ali12 wrote. A 10-year-old child was hanged in Ramallah, possibly IOF forces, later, she deleted the post.
Another propaganda account @Bernadotte22 also shared the image and wrote, “This is what the occupation did to this Palestinian child. Later, she deleted the post.

The truth about the photo, Fact Check
As soon as the posts containing the sensitive photos and claims came to our notice. Subsequently, we conducted research and analysis of the incident and found that the claims about IDF’s involvement are false and fabricated.
To verify the claims made by the users. We performed a reverse image search on Google Lens. This led us to media reports containing the same photo. According to the reports, A 10-year-old boy was found hanging from a flagpole in the Al-Tireh neighborhood of Ramallah in the West Bank on Friday morning (20 September 2024).
Colonel Louay Erziqat, spokesperson for the Palestinian police, confirmed that law enforcement and security forces have launched a probe into the tragic death of the child, who was found hanged in Ramallah.
Later, in a statement issued by the police, it was revealed that after reviewing surveillance footage from the area, it appeared that the child accidentally hanged himself while playing.
We also found CCTV footage from the same incident, which shows the boy hanging himself from a pole resulting in his tragic death.
Therefore, it is evident from verified sources that the claims about IDF’s involvement are false and fabricated.
